CMC-The congregation of the Mother of Carmel,was founded on 13th February1866 at Koonammavu,Kerala, by blessed Kuriakose Elias Chavara and Italian missionary Rev. Fr. Leopold Beccaro O.C.D.CMC is a pontifical congregation of the Syro-Malabar rite for women with simple perpetual vows of obedience ,Charity and poverty.This humple begining with 4 sisters in a bamboo house ,has now more than 6200members rendering selfless service through love in 4 continents-Africa,Asia, America & Europe under 20 province and regions.

After the establishment of the Kalyan diocese of Maharashtra on 24th April 1988,the The first Bishop of Kalyan ,His Excellency Mar Paul Chittilappilly felt the need for the service of nuns for the holistic growth of the region requested the CMC congrgation to oblige.Accordingly our province -Thrissur province -started our convent and institutions in kalyan diocese.

To extend our apostolate in the faith formation through pastoral work and social service we started our convent near Tikujiniwadi in Thane district.It is Our Lady's lively response for having a religious sisters asistance in parish activities as there weren't any sisters with in their premise of the parish.23rd June 2007 a longing desire of parishners was fullfilled here, because the same day the convent was blessed.
